Metropole Products, Inc. Designs and Manufactures Bandpass Filter for Use in CSBF’s High Altitude Balloon Flights

Metropole Products, Inc. (MPI) designs solutions that empower communication around the world and beyond. Their innovative RF and microwave technologies are essential components to the systems that connect and protect our nation. In addition, MPI offers a broad spectrum of specialized products, along with the proven expertise to design and manufacture customized solutions and technologies to meet the most demanding mission requirements.

In coordination with the Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility (CSBF), located in Palestine, Texas, Metropole Products is currently building a customized Bandpass filter, the FBV-264TS, for operation on a scientific high altitude balloon flight. The CSBF is a NASA facility managed by Orbital ATK that provides the services of launching large (400 ft.), unmanned, high altitude (120,000 ft.) research balloons and tracks and recovers the scientific experiments suspended beneath the balloons for NASA centers and Universities all over the world.

For more than 40 years, Metropole Products’ expert engineers have developed sophisticated communications components that enable both science and industry to reach farther, connect more clearly and share information more efficiently. By creating custom solutions that are tailored to specific mission needs, such as the FBV-264TS Bandpass filter, MPI is directly contributing to the advancement of our society by empowering communications across the globe.
